Beyond Karate's 2019 Summer Camp was EPIC!

Five days of friendship, fun, games, creativity & karate.

On the first day, we had karate training,
sparring, swimming, origami swans & ninja stars, ninja fight and foremost friendships and summer fun.

On day 2, we made models of Torii Gates, the traditional entrance seen all over Japan!

Our gratitude goes to Heisha Freeman &
Anthony Freeman who donated and
constructed these amazing kits for us to
assemble and paint. Thank you!

Day 3: Today we learned that Torii Gate is a symbol of transformation, process from the mundane to extraordinary. From regular life to the Karate-Do life of respect, integrity and friendships.

Another art project, fun at the basketball court and a bit of dancing.

Day 4: Swim time! These kids are awesome!! So great to see their personalities shine.

In the morning we talked about how to make friends: spend time together, smile at each other, do things together, help each other, call each other.

Then... Campers brushed a word of their
choice in Japanese kanji. And signed their art with their names in Japanese.

We saw our friends from HEROES Camp too. Great day!!

On our last day, we celebrated with pizza and awards. It was five days of friendship, fun, games, creativity & karate.
